15% bus fare hike demanded

While rejecting proposed 7% bus fare hike, Lanka private Bus Owners Association demanded a 15% price revision in July, a LPBOA official said.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, LPBOA Secretary Kirthi Sri Bandula said the 7% fare hike was not at all sufficient and it needed to be revised in line with the increase in electricity tariff as it would affect the pricing formula by some 75%.
