President
Mahinda Rajapaksa is to declare open the newly built Third Medical Ward
Complex at the Colombo National Hospital (CNH) Friday.The ten-storied
structure on pile foundation constructed by the State
Engineering Corporation comprises a floor area of 11,500 square meters.
The
Ministry of Healthcare and Nutrition has spent Rs. 463 million for the
project. A further Rs. 50 million is to be spent for providing equipment
for the ward complex. The 422- bed ward complex will increase the
number of beds at the Colombo National Hospital to 3,572.
