A
45-year-old businessman, living in Maharagama, was killed yesterday
morning in an accident on the Southern Expressway, while proceeding
towards Pinnaduwa from Colombo. His wife and daughter were also injured
but his son escaped unhurt.

Siriwardana said that the incident had occurred round 11.30 a.m. when
the victims vehicle veered off the road between the 14.1 and 14.2
kilometre posts, in the Bandaragama police area and crashed unto the
railings of the expressway before coming to a halt after toppling over.
The injured were rushed to the Horana hospital, he said. The deceased was identified as Shanaka Akmeemana.
