The
government schools have been closed down for the first term and the
impending Sinhala and Tamil New Year from Friday (5), the Education
Ministry sources have announced.
The schools will be closed for the holidays from 5 April to 22 April for
a period of two weeks. The Muslim schools will be closed for holidays
next week, on 9 April, and will recommence on 17 April, according to the
